Manual activator for a smoke and heat extraction unit.
This manual activator caused several accidental activations
because of penetrating moisture. Every accidental activation
incurs costs of about € 3,000. This fault was not detected
by the service staff of a well-known fire protection firm
despite regular maintenance that was more expensive that
our fixed rate charges. |

These thermo-activation elements of a smoke and heat
extraction unit were discovered in our first maintenance
inspection and replaced. The glass containers were incorrectly
installed so they were not sealed and the fluid escaped.
The smoke and heat extraction unit head affected could therefore
not open automatically in the event of a fire. |
